MBTA Commuter Rail blocking BoingBoing
The MBTA (Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority) is graciously meeting the needs of their riders by testing free WiFi on several cars. It has been a boon for us that like to work during our long commutes from old mill towns to the great big shiny city.
I have discovered that in their infinite wisdom they are also blocking BoingBoing for “nudity”, but several other sites with much more salacious content are freely available. e.g. Fark.com.
Moral of the story is that blocking software is just plain broken. It hurts more than helps.
