Up til this point my excitement about Robocop have been pretty low. The original dystopian satire was near perfect and while I am not an anti-remake guy all the footage and art direction just seemed lackluster, sort of a generic video game shooter two hour cut scene.
The above trailer is starting to change my mind. Dumping the satire, the center of the film seems to be corporate interests manipulating the American public into accepting massive changes that they do not need through fear. In the end the result will diminish what we had, but will be too ingrained for any individual to effectively stop it. Unless that individual has the STRENGTH OF A ROBOT.
In short, this has the potential to be nifty.
